Contemporary brand, mac & jac will launch shoes for both the mac & jac and kenzie labels. Mac & Jac signed a licensing deal with California-based Prima Royale Ent. Ltd. to manufacture and market the shoes. Steven Seidman, chairman of mac & jac's exclusive licensing agent, InGroup Licensing, made the announcement. The new lines debuted at WSA in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay.

According to Eric Karls, mac & jac's president, the line "Is a well-rounded apparel collection; adding footwear will help our customers complete their collections."

Targeted retailers include May Company, Federated, Nordstrom, Saks, Bon Ton, Boscov's, Dillard's, Stage Stores, Marshal Fields, Von Maur, Famous Footwear, Belk and Gottschalk's, according to Prima Royale president, Bobby Bruce Levy.

Irwindale, California-based Prima Royale is a privately held manufacturer of footwear.

Privately held, mac & jac is based in Vancouver, Canada with distribution to specialty stores, boutiques and department stores throughout North America. There are freestanding stores throughout Asia with an expected 55 by the year's end. The first North American store opened in 2003; an additional three to five are expected to open for 2004.

InGroup, a global licensing agent will be licensing denim, accessories, swim, intimates, outerwear, cosmetics and fragrances for the mac & jac label. Senior accountant executive Lauren Redish, who heads InGroup's better fashion clients, manages the account. Other InGroup clients include Mudd Jeans, Zena and Eljay.
